I am going on a mission trip to India this winter and this blog is doubling as a way for me to be sure that I am actually processing my thoughts, emotions, and what God is telling me before the trip, as well as a way to share what God is doing with those who are partnering in this journey with me through prayer.
I have been intrigued with India since I was a little girl. I was kind of a nerdy child, and really enjoyed reading encyclopedias. I had four subjects in this encyclopedia that I frequented, India, Egypt, astronauts, and space. I was (and still can be) a bit of a dreamer.
My church, Rock Harbor, has had a partnership with this organization, Harvest India, for many years. Three years ago, when I first started attending Rock Harbor, I was informed about their annual trip and wanted to go almost immediately. But because the time of the trip always landed at the same time as winter break leadership training for college, it never was possible for me to attend.
Since I am graduated now, I decided to apply. I was offered a spot on the team, as one out of a group of 35 individuals, and I said yes. God has been working on preparing my heart for this trip for a long time. And I see it much more clearly now. And I can't wait to share what He is doing with all of you.
